Seriously, what would an agent put in the subject line to a fellow agent, manager or CE? I doubt they would say "query"...they would say, "title," or something similar.

I can't imagine anyone of importance waiting around for an email that says, "Query." You have to trick these people...they don't want you bothering them. Chances are the contents of the query are bush league...not to mention most places have rules against unsolicited queries; hence, they filter those emails out by using the keyword, "query".

Got two managers off an e query. But I tend to think of them as Hot Queries.

This would work best for my current project.

I was also thinking of the first half of the logline (if the logline supports it to have a first "teaser" half).

I wrote "Query" in my subject line. But I'm on the old-fashioned side - I don't like the idea of tricking someone into reading an email.

What I did was to enable them to decide in like 5 seconds if they want to read the log or not by squeezing a lot of info into the Subject Line.

So I had Query: [Script Title] + [Genre] + [Contest Placement]
I also got reads with Query UCLA Screenwriter (I did the PPW program) + Title.

Don't write query.... it's not a trick.

Bono, I think I read somewhere that your script placed in last year's trackingb contest. Did that get you any signficant manager contact?
