Tried him yesterday, turns out they delayed my email, then placed it on a ban list, all for a simple Manager query that was quite cordial. Can anyone say Proxy
Well not sure what it was exactly or why. I know my email has a signature to authenticate certificates so that receiving email servers know that my signed email is authentic and through a major net signature too, that should not have put me on a blocked list though. My intro was actually very cordial too, oh well, onto the next one I suppose. Just need to find a Manager that wants lots of fresh materials and especially new sci-fi stuff too as well as some series I authored.
I don't know for sure, but perhaps the generic website query gets picked up by an intern or assistant rather than the managers themselves.
Perhaps the managers are getting tired of having to deal with the queries directly. Maybe they're anxiously waiting to hear back from contacts they've sent material to or from their clients, and are going batty everytime their iPhones and Blackberrys go off and it's not from either. I don't know. Just random brain fart speculation.
To everyone: What are your experiences with using the query email address on their site? I've tried a couple times and just listen to the crickets. No response at all.
Suppose my query letter could simply suck ... Naaahhhh, that couldn't be it.
Nothing from their query. Even worse if you use him off the list, I found that you get put on some type of ban list. My emails are all signed by a major net security company so my emails are always sent out authenticated, so that would negate them being taken as spam or being forwarded by proxy etc. Good luck, not sure what to make of this guy's email addy's
