i love the talking dead show that follows.
last week the zombie kill count was 1. this week the zombie kill count was 20. i wish they'd do more with the asian kid. shiit! i don't even know his name. will they ever get out of redneck territory? saw a thing that Atlanta is the zombie capital and they have a zombie convention every year that even the CDC gets involved with. but i say - go north!!! |

A big part of the reason I still watch is because I have no other shows competing on Sunday night. It's something to watch while I'm in bed writing. My husband remembers to watch it more than I do because we DVR it.

Anyone went to AMC to watch the webisodes? Just watched them. They are mixed up and 2min each so it's kind of a pain, but they aren't bad. The first 6 show how a woman ended up being that half-eaten walker Rick first saw and then went back and killed later.

Wow, I gotta say, the last 5 minutes of Sunday's episode gives this series promise. I was shocked. Which is a great thing.
That said, all the little introspective moments were just freakin boring. Can't the writers think of a better way to show character? Come on. The kind of action around the school is what this show should pander.

yes... yes, they are all rednecks and now they're going to stay in redneck territory. doesn't anybody have a cell phone? no connection with the outside world... i'd be calling someplace off this continent if no one in nyc would answer the phone. cause zombies can't swim.

Missed the last third, last night. Anything happen that would change my mind about skipping this thing? (I did watch Hell on Wheels right after - may give that a few episodes.)

Good episode. I like where Shane's character is going. Asian guy bagging the chick was organic and they have lot of chemistry going. The bloated zombie was mad cool. Don't think the science of drinking water that a zombie's stewing in won't infect you but minor technicality. Slightly a little talky but after the previous eps mass zombie scenes, I can deal. Easily better than last season on a consistent quality per episode basis.

What I find interesting is the current zombie trend (WWZ, etc.) What is it about this point in time that makes the idea of the walking dead so compelling to audiences.

i don't think it's a trend. creatures features have been around for many, many years. they just move in cycles. however, this is the first one (someone may prove me wrong. i'm too lazy to check) that is not a feature. it's a tv series. and it's from a graphic novel... a huge trend in the feature world.
