I wouldn't say that Bay did it better. Just first. Which makes it seem better.

No, he did it better, he created a greater realism and suspension of disbelief. His shots had more power, and he executed the scene to greater effect. I don't think there's anyone who could make an argument that Wheddon is a better technician than Bay. He can really put a scene together. And it looked stunning in 3d. Avengers always had a foot stuck in a cartoon and never got out of it. Of course the Avengers had great characters and Transformers not so much.

All I got out of T3 was grinding gears, explosions and pixal soup. I never had a sense of place.

What is pixel soup? A tech term?

It's a maelstrom of pixels that never attain cohesion.

haven't seen it yet but you gotta love sam -- I'm "sick of all these mother-effing critics trashing his mother-effing movie."

Speaking of, I enjoyed the movie a lot (especially the set pieces and the humor) but Samuel L Jackson was a very weak link. He phoned in that performance. It was as if he was sleeping on set, heard "action" and woke up to deliver his lines.

He didn't even need to phone it in...those lines were pretty obviously written for Samuel MF Jackson, not Nick Fury. Whoever that is.

I would get this printed on a t-shirt. Love it.

Also -

SPOILER:

I love how they showed us a glimpse of Thanos after the credit sequence.

Why do people always equate "camp" with "gawdawful"?
I LIKE camp!
