Yes, I meant to say thanks for sending me your script. It had too many drawings for my liking.

And can you stop sending me those creepy letters and hanging around outside my home. It is scaring the kids.

It should be in the Services forum.

Let me at least try to answer the question for you, if I may, since I don't think tons of our board users have joined yet and also I see a couple of the same questions come up from folks.

I will say all of this as objectively as possible...

The new site is not for everyone. If you just like dropping by DD now & then seeing a few deals or possibly checking out an address or two, then this site is probably fine for you.

DDP is designed first and foremost for people who would like to run numerous types of reports on the deals we have listed in its database -- seven plus years' worth. I won't note all the different reports you can run since it's been mentioned before, but you can do a lot actually.

In addition, all the various company lists (agencies, management firms, production...) are much more updated than anything we have here; and also many of the individual listings are more detailed than what is listed on DD. Along with all of that, we also provide some exclusive interviews, track various development-related news stories like new production companies, first-look deal arrangements, staff changes at agencies, etc., and so on.

Now what doesn't the site have? Well, first of all we don't track TV deals. It's not about the TV world. We do list some companies that produce TV shows, for example, but all the deals are for movies.

Second, we do not have a huge list of companies who are openly saying, "Send us submissions." As we go along we'll add more I'm sure, but because the vast majority of the companies we list are fairly well established, "higher profile" companies, you're not going to be seeing them open the floodgates. They'd never get anything done if they did. Most of the companies that are aggressively saying send us material are smaller companies that usually don't have much money and/or are just getting started. They are not the ones we are covering daily in our sales reports. (Most, but not all, of what we list in terms of the companies, agencies, etc. is in relation to the deals we report.) Now, that's not to say we don't include contact information (including some e-mail addresses) for various companies, we just can't say, "Hey write them, they are dying to hear from you!"

The main thing I will always say is that we're not trying to replace any of the other services out there. We're simply trying to offer an affordable, higher end version of what we have here that will hopefully offer you as much info as possible for the price. Do we have as much as say the HCD? Or Baseline? No. But then again we don't charge their rates. Not even close.

For $40 a year, you get what you pay for. For some it might be good. For others it might not be what they are looking for. But I'll definitely stand by the fairness of it all. The rate covers everything we have, not just the contact information but also (and just as important) the nearly 6,000 deals, site & search features, key news stories, and so on.

Don't forget it is a tax writeoff. Also, people have asked over the years how they can say "thanks" for the site & help out. Well, this is a great way to do it.

I joined a few weeks ago. I haven't yet used - or checked out - all of its benefits. But I have used the agents and managers listings and gotten reads based on it. That made it worth the cost.

joined when it was $29.95. Not a bad deal. I use it everyday and notice that they are diligent about updating contacts. I have scriptpimp as well. I like pro better.

I've joined - I like it - like the way you can have recent deals come up in the genre of your choice and search the sales database and I like the news updates.
