Hello,
I am a writer with a specific quesiton about using Final Draft (5.0). As I continue working on my Bernie Mac spec script, I am constantly updating the "confessionals" speeches that occur between the scenes of the story I am telling. Is there a way to generate a report that will generate a scene by scene outline in the following way: 1) only contain Bernie's CONFESSIONAL dialogue. 2) allow me to summarize in 1-2 sentences the scenes that are told "in between" the confessionals (aka "the story") I am ultimately looking for a report that looks like something below... -------------- Act 1: "Title" 1) CONFESSIONAL: Bernie: "America, this is my confessional dialogue and here's the theme of this episode" 2) Scene 2 -Bernie chases Jordan around the house. 3) CONFESSIONAL: Bernie: "America, Jordan is a problem" 3) Scene 3 - Bernie booby traps the kitchen. -------------- I have my story for this episode, but now I'm working backwards to make sure the Confessionals (which contain the theme I'm trying to convey) work with and play off of the story. ...A 1-2 page summary report with the confessional dialogue AND the in-between scene summary will allow me to focus on the confessionals (at a quick glance) thank you! |

You can probably use the Scene Navigator Outline feature. If you set the individual scenes you want to include in the Scene type style, they will show up as separate elements in the Outline.
I'm not sure if that's what you're after, but maybe if you experiement you can figure something out. |
