Default Shane Black

Whatever became of Shane Black? He wrote Lethal Weapon and Last Boy Scout (slightly underrated action movie).

go to imdb.com and type in his name. He's written a few more than those two.

I've met him, nice guy. Always willing to chat.

He likes to drink Cape Cod.

I found that of all the legendary writers, he seemed one of the more down to earth people and, like whistlelock mentioned, willing to chat.

I asked him if I could call his assistant to see if Shane himself would be interested in coming to talk to my screenwriting class. He said "I don't have an assistant. Here's my number. Wait, let me give you my cell phone number, too."

Then he bought me a drink. Well, several drinks. Very nice person.

Default I'd like to meet him myself one day

Man truly gave the action genre a shot in the arm. Never seen an action movie with subtext of Lethal Weapon. And the fight scenes were pretty credible although I'd have to thank Richard Donner and Royce Gracie for that, too.

"What do you say. You want a shot at the title?"

He wrote a RomanticComedy, actually, that there were some stirrings about not too long ago.

I think he's pretty overrated. He's a good writer and everything, but why is it we've all heard of him again?

Nothing too original about anything he writes. . . moody ex-cops, secret agents with memories erased. . . and what was at that time, I believe, the biggest spec sale of all time Long Kiss Goodnight was. . . I'd go so far to say it was not entertaining. That's not necessarily his fault of course.

And God Bless him for turning his talent into films we've all seen and millions of dollars.

I heard once that his brother got pidgeon holed as a zombie movie writer after his Dead Cop/Beat whatever it was called with Joe Piscipo.

Shane's latest is called YOU'LL NEVER DIE IN THIS TOWN AGAIN. It's a strange (to say the least) Hollywood mystery that turns into an action flick at the end. Supposedly, he's going to direct it, as well...

Default SHANE

Like to meet him someday. He may not be the greatest but he is one of the reasons I'm writing.
