  • Wordplayer, wordplayer, where art thou?

Anybody know the 411 on the disappearance of this great site?

    www.wordplay.com

Yeah, the site is called 'Worder Player', but the domain is wordplay.com. Weird but true.

In addition to what Hamletta said, the discussion boards go down Sat. afternoon and come back up around 10:30 Pacific Time Monday morning.

Has this site been updated in a while or do you all mainly use it as a resource?

I read the 30 main articles once in a while, as a refresher... But that's all they are... it's like a free "how to write a script" book. I've never been in their forums.

The columns/articles rule the roost, but haven't been updated in years, I don't think. And the messageboard is VERY strictly monitored.

They updated the "Indy Pros" columns with an article by Stephen King (not written specifically for the website) and one by Craig Mazin. And depending on what you consider "a while," those updates may or may not be old news.

Also, the Hall of Fame posts get updated. The latest one being from October of this year (correct me if I'm wrong).

You can now search the archived posts during off-time. And as previously mentioned, they extended the hours of operation.

                          open command prompt.

type "tracert wordplayer.com" and see where the connection falls down.

I just tried it and got an "access problem" screen with a request to send the details quoted to the webmaster, which I did.

It's the first time I've had any problems with it.

They must be upgrading, or something, and it's taken a dislike to old machines like mine....

Face it, Ted and Terry are too busy to give a crap about the site anymore.
