  • Family comedy with no children?

My definition of a "family" comedy is one that can be enjoyed by the whole family, but not necessarily one with a "family" as the main characters. Am I wrong? I'm developing a comedy with this target audience and I suddenly realized my youngest character is 22 -- there are no children in it. There's room in the concept to put a child, but...what do you think?

Can you have a family comedy without children in it?

    Can you think of one?

As long as the story is broad and entertaining enough to capture the imaginations of young children, it doesn't matter what age the characters in the film are.

In Shrek, everybody was a kid in adult bodies.

Having a child, even a token one, might not be a bad idea. I'm thinking of the movie Blue Brothers 2, the kid character was part of the story, but really did nothing more than stand around and look cool in sunglasses.

I've got one out right now, it's an animal pic with only one little boy who is in it very little.

              Edit

May have been the wrong forum. May have been drunken ramblings. Who can say?

              I can't.
