  • Question about sequel

Is it ok to put "To be continued" at the end of a script, if you have left the story in a position to be sequeled or should it be left out until someone asks. Im curious because I have several Producers and Agents reading my script. I left it out on the copies being read, but at the same time. I already have the concept and story idea for a sequel script.

So, put it in or leave it out?

I havent written the sequel (just an outline) because Im primarily focused on the current script and have done a few rewrites, as requested.

    Leave it off.

if you left it in, it would probably just confuse people. They'd flip the page and wonder, "where the hell is the rest?"

You can talk about the sequel idea in pitching the script, but don't make it sound like your script is dependent on a sequel.

For awhile, there, I got a whole string of scripts that ended with a pitch for the sequel. I wanted to burn them.
