  • Have you ever put two stories in one script?

You have idea for two scripts, but actually when you star to write
you melt in one than you get something freaky good!?

But that makes only one script? Quantity?

I combine premises very frequently. I have at least two scripts that are a combination of what were about four different script ideas at one time. The fact is, a lot of times, a good idea cannot carry an entire feature-length film but can work as one of the facets of a better film.

If you have a list of potential script premises (as I suggest you should), I recommend going through and mix-matching, even at random, to see how two ideas could combine into one. At the very least, it will get you to think about an idea in a new way that might inspire you.

I combined two stories into one, using one of the stories as the backstory of one of then characters. But then I stopped writing that story because it sucked, and took the backstory out and wrote a script based on that story.

The script I'm currently struggling with has 5 stories.

(It's a bit of an ensemble piece. Every one has their own story, as well as the overall one)

I think I've just realised why I'm struggling with it ...
