    Exactly. I've had more laughs watching Police Academy ... II.

    I make my actors more likeable by giving them universal quirks. I show them poking fun at themselves or caring for people but not in a preachy, sappy way. Like the Adam Sandler character in The Wedding Singer where he's playing at the bar mitzphah and a boy is dejected because the girl he likes doesn't return the fondness. Adam doesn't give him longwinded advice. He sets him up with Drew and the kid dances with her, feeling her up.

      the best trick i've seen is in Dexter. they made a serial killer likable, lovable, sexy and one that you root for. when has that ever happened before?

          I don't think any of that matters too much. The reason why we like Dexter is because he only kills murderers. Everyone else is the bad guy.
