Thanks Dwickstorm. You're suggestions are very on the mark. I do have a "Watching person" who also dubbles as a red herring. The sight items sound like a good suggestion. I see we've all done our mandatory USUAL SUSPECTS watching.

        Herring

A Red Herring is a 'Maguffin'... and isalways best when seared as opposed to broiled.

          Re: Herring

Red Herring - a device used to divert attention from the real issue onto a false storyline.

          Example
          __________________________________________________ ____________

INT. CROWDED COMPUTER STORE -- AFTERNOON

DAN browses through the sriptwriting software.

          SALESPERSON (OS)
          (from behind Dan)
          Can I help you?

DAN turns and looks up just as a GUNSHOT is heard. He slumps to his knees. The SALESPERSON
puts a gun in his/her pocket and leans over DAN.

          DAN
          (gasping)
          What..? Ooh, that hurts...

          SALESPERSON
          Shh. Relax. You'll be okay.
          (yelling)
Somebody get an ambulance! Christ... hurry!
          __________________________________________________ ____________________

LOL... Now, did the salesperson actually shoot Dan? We don't know but we think so.

          Got it?

Long winded... but consider red herring defined...

          Dan

            Re: Herring

Check out the entire last 20 minutes of Clue. It aptly shows more than 3 red herrings.
