  • Substitute for "Catch me if you can?"

I need a short, articulate, playful line that captures that same thought (literally, this is a physical race between two people) in a more "literary" sort of way. A new script of mine features folks from a different age, and they speak in elevated language. I'm having a lot of fun with it and I think I'm actually doing a pretty good job, but this line has be stumped.

    Pursue me if you can?
    Follow at your peril?
    At thy risk and peril?

Not crazy about any of these. Suggestions welcome!

        Stalk me if you dare.
        Follow me if you must.
Catch me if you so desire.
Go ahead, try to catch me if you have nothing else to do.
Catch me if you can--good luck with that.

It might help a little if you, you know, provide a few more details about your story, characters, context of particular scene, specific period that the story takes place (other than just "another age"), who's saying the line to whom, what their nationalities are, etc., etc.

Just telling us that the characters speak in "elevated language" helps not a lot my friend.

If what you're after is Victorian-era Holmes-speak -- or maybe something completely different -- you need to tell us.

You'll probably get better results that way. Just a suggestion.

                    HAHAHAHA.

To Goth: the language is Fantasy language, the language of kings and knights and so on. Like LOTR for instance. If Aragorn were to challenge someone, he wouldn't say Last one in the lake is a rotten egg!!

Here, the challenger says (right after a very serious exchange that involves the survival of the entire human race):

-A bit of sport before we dine?
-INSERT SHORT QUOTABLE LINE BY CHALLENGEE

Challengee blasts off and is out of sight in a milli-second.

Challenger smiles, UTTERS QUOTABLE LINE and takes off with the speed of a meteor.

So you can see how it is crucial to cinematic history for this line to be just perfect

Follow me, and I shall rip apart thine chastity belt.
