A friend has a book on the rise. Her agent was approached by a well-connected producer who asked her to write a treatment. She asked me to help her with it. I haven't written a treatment since the '70s. Is there anything new I should know - preferred length, format, etc - or sample of a recent one?

Re: I was asked to help with a treatment
It's worth mentioning in case you haven't considered this. Unless you are doing this as a favor with no expectations, the earlier you agree on the nature of your involvement and if necessary have something in writing, the less likely you are to run into conflict later on. Just saying..."Friends make the worst enemies." Frank Underwood

Re: I was asked to help with a treatment
It's worth reading the treatment for 'Mr & Mrs Smith' as a nice example.
I'm sure it's a little out of date now - but it reads beautifully.

Re: I was asked to help with a treatment
Here's another great article about treatments and some examples from Terry Rossio. Some good tips in there, and some caveats to keep in mind.
Hope it helps.
