So I'm writing a screenplay that has a lot to do with robots. And I wanted to reference Asimov's First Law:
A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
It's just one reference, and it's not what the movie is about at all, but it plays into the opening scene in a very minor way.
Right now I was alluding to it:
FRANK (CONT'D)
However, thanks to a certain 20th century Sci Fi writer, you were given a primary directive, weren't you?
ANDROID
I don't see how...
Can I explicitly state the first law if I credit it to Asimov? Can I use Asimov's name? Or do these require permission?
