    Not using your new treadmill? Then you might as well whip your logline into shape for the new year! Here we go!

    DDP Logline Throwdown V

    This logline throwdown will take place in two rounds





    Round 1: Head-to-head logline competition.
    • One logline (title recommended) per participant
    • Any genre, format or topic
    • Submit your logline to bioprofessor (via DDP messaging)
    • Top 5 scoring loglines go on to Round 2 (see below)
    • Voting & Scoring
      • Vote for the top 5 loglines (1st - 5th). Submit votes to bioprofessor.
      • Round 1 points awarded: 1st = 25 pts; 2nd = 20 pts; 3rd = 15 pts; 4th = 10 pts; 5th = 5 pts
    • Submission deadline: Friday, January 13, 2023, Midnight, EDT
    • Voting deadline: Sunday, January 15, 2023, Midnight, EDT
    • Results posted: Monday, January 16, 2023
    Round 2: Opening page competition between the top 5 scoring loglines from Round 1
    • Single (1) opening page from the writers of the top 5 scoring loglines
    • Submit your opening page to bioprofessor (pdf or .txt format via DDP messaging)
    • Suggested scoring criteria: How well does the opening page reflect the genre, tone and dramatic theme of the story, as presented by the logline?
    • Voting & Scoring
      • Rank the five opening page entries, 1st - 5th place. Submit votes to bioprofessor.
      • Round 2 points awarded: 1st = 40 pts; 2nd = 35 pts; 3rd = 30 pts; 4th = 25 pts; 5th = 20 pts
    • Submission deadline: Sunday, January 22, 2023, Midnight, EDT
    • Voting deadline: Friday, January 27, 2023, Midnight, EDT
    • Final results posted (based on the sum of the total points awarded in Round 1 and Round 2): Sunday, January 29, 2023

                        Two entries, so far! Let's go! Time to whip those 2023 Nicholl and Austin loglines into shape!

                        PS. I recommend including both the title, and genre for your logline - "free" words to help you set the scene.

                              Okay, we're about 6 hours away from the submission deadline, 12 Midnight EDT. If we end up with less than 5 entries, then I'll just postpone the contest to a later date, TBD.
