  • Lawyer recommendation specialising in licensing existing rights

Looking for a lawyer that specialises in adapting existing intellectual property like books, films, documentaries into TV series.

    Any good experiences?

IP law is a huge arena with many lawyers. If you can't get any personal recommendations, call the Beverly Hills bar association or the California Bar Assn. and ask for the Section on IP Law. Tell them exactly what you want and they should be able to help you. Just remember, the large firms are expensive but there are many excellent small/solo guys out there. Also, if money is tight, the Calif. Bar has groups of lawyers for the arts who offer assistance pro bono.

I was told that there is a standard 5% commission for all lawyers.
