Didja see he landed three sales in one day?
    What's that all about?

I doubt he landed 3 sales in one day. There's generally a lag between the time when the sale actually happens to when the various people decide to report it to Hollywood Reporter/Variety to when they decide to print.

So while it may have been reported that he had three deals in the trade, it's probably not on the same day. If they were, I'm sure he must be sleeping from the exhaustion.

Agents at the big five agencies are never named when their deals are reported in the trades (Scriptsales.com sources that info pro bono).

Non of these are spec sales -- one's a rewrite, one is a project picked up from turnaround, the other's an adaptation of a novel.

        Yup they are...

Yup they are. Everybody loves to get their 15 minutes in the sun. Hell, my agent (big 3) sold 2 in one day a little while back (alas not mine! lol) and couldn't have been happier with the press he was getting!

Remember, you only get paid in 2 things in this biz. Your money and your credit. Damned if I know anyone in this town who wants to get short changed on either...

Which is why it's generally agency policy that the agency gets the credit when deals are announced in the trades and not the individual agent.

Look in any edition of Variety/Reporter. How many writers are "repped by" a human being at a big 5 agency?

Geoff Morley was not mentioned in the Reporter on Wednesday, the writers are "repped by UTA". It's the same for almost all deals: after the agency, the individual manager and/or attorney may well be named, but rarely the individual agent. Even the Reporter's 'rep sheet' doesn't name names when it comes to new signings by the likes of CAA, ICM, Endeavor and only attributes new clients to the agency.

There's more to the Scripsales page than cut and paste. In fact come to think of it, it's probably the only resource available for establishing an agent's past deals.
