Another Twilight Zone series?

I think they should have stopped with the 1980s version.

I love it. Great fit for CBS, too.

Wouldn't it be great if this kind of show had an open submissions policy like Star Trek? Discovering new writers and material.

Yes, but they'd be overwhelmed. By people willing to do it for free.

True, but they would not be able to accept free scripts, they'd have all manner of guilds on their back if they did.

Re: Another Twilight Zone series?
The original series is one of my biggest inspirations and influences as a storyteller. Those scripts were beautifully, beautifully written de facto one act plays, exemplary in so many ways. New series? Good luck.

If it really is that good they should remake it. For the new generation. Don't be selfish.

1) Yes, it was that good and no, you can't just remake it. Haven't you seen it?
2) It's rerun in marathons and easily available on disc and for streaming.
3) Selfish?

Re: Another Twilight Zone series?
Just because it was good doesn't mean they shouldn't bring it back. Anyways, it's not like there's no more stories to tell.
By the way, the '80s version had its moments, but the episodes are extremely dated and has its share of clunkers. Just as the original series did.
I think the article makes a good point: now would be a good time for a good science fiction anthology series to make a splash.

Re: Another Twilight Zone series?
I'm not saying they shouldn't, I'm just pessimistic about their ability to do it satisfactorily. That goes for the commercial side of it, as well.

Re: Another Twilight Zone series?
Oddly enough, shooting in color would seem to detract from the series, IMHO.

But it was done. In the '80s. And it didn't detract from it.
I think the series could indeed be done, in color, and I think there's an abundance of material, old and new, that could be mined for a series.
I say make Richard Christian Matheson the show runner.
