  • I'm Writing a Radio Series

So this is kind of unusual but cool. My local top 40 station has a nationally syndicated morning show, and a couple of weeks ago they asked for pitches for a radio soap opera. My pitch was a Carol Burnett Show-inspired spoof called The Grapes of Destiny. They went for it, and the series will debut on July 20.

Here I am getting interviewed about it on the air:

Congratulations! That sounds like so much fun. I love the premise. Sounds like it has a lot of dramatic and comic potential. Best of luck!

Sounds like a blast, congrats! Maybe you can get them to let you direct one or two shows. If so, I recommend watching FRASIER Season 4 episode 18

Late to the party. This is so cool. Congrats Miss B.
Advice from writer, Kelly Sue DeConnick. "Try this: if you can replace your female character with a sexy lamp and the story still basically works, maybe you need another draft.-

                  Thanks everyone!

It started airing on Monday. Today, they had Judd Apatow as a call-in guest, promoting Trainwreck. My fantasy that he would hear the skit, ask for my number, and hire me to write his next film did NOT come true, alas, but it's fun hearing my name announced every morning.

                    I hope it'll be a success.

Any set number of episodes, or will it run for years?

Well done B, I trust you'll be head down at this time and pushing on with this, and congratulations aside, it actually sounds like very hard work too.
