anyone find this book useful? i have found that the best way to do things is to just sit down and force it all out, but a little into this book it has seemed informative. is there a considered "bible" for the basics and elements of screenwriting? thanks

    Books...

Lew Hunter's book is fairly informative when I compare it to the other books that have come out.

Here are a few good ones that I've given good reviews for:

How NOT to Write a Screenplay (this is considered by screenwriting "bible")

500 Ways to Beat the Hollywood Reader (this is simple and informative. I'm a reader, and agree with most of what the author advised)

The Screenwriter's Bible (the title actually says it's a Bible!

Check out the Screenwriter's Bookshelf for some more suggestions.

"How not to write a screenplay"

I thought it was a good read too. It highlights areas that some "How To" books don't. It also gives examples from both well-executed scripts, and a few mediocre ones.
