can anyone recommend any good books that deal with writing in the action genre?

Sorry, man... busy writing scripts. The revised version is in the works. Until then, the only place you can get it is from some danged bookstore that bought copies for $9 and are reselling them for $199. I don't see any of that.

can we expect it this year? or should we not hold our breath?

what gets me is that it seems to be the only action writing book out there. the sample chapters and tips on your website seem to be more informative then the competition's whole presentation/book based on the reviews i'm reading.

Re: Books on Writing Action Scripts

For the price people are getting for that book these days, you could almost travel up here to Vancouver BC, and check out the copy in our fine public library - which has itself appeared in a number of films and TV shows.

I've toyed with the idea of checking it out again and simply not returning it. But that would be selfish, and I'm sort of Canadian now...

Or an alternate scenario: if you have a writing group, it would almost be worth your while to all chip in what you'd each pay for the book and hire Russian mobsters to kidnap Mr. Martell himself, chain him up in your basement and have him answer your screenwriting questions directly...

Throw in a ditsy blonde and a couple of car crashes ... and you have a pitch there!
