  • Popcorn Fiction

A friend of mine started up a new online short fiction magazine, Popcorn Fiction. So far it's all stories from screenwriters and TV writers, and aside from mine, they're pretty good.

I started a thread about this. It's now at the bottom of this forum's index. (Title: "Neat")

Looks like producers are visiting! Good luck Jeff!
Jerry Bruckheimer has picked up the film rights to Derek Haas' short story "Shake" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows an FBI agent chasing a killer while he begins to lose control of his own body. Haas ("Wanted," "3:10 to Yuma") penned the story for the website Popcornfiction.com and will expand the story into a feature screenplay.

I just read Haas' story the other day. It does read rather movie-ish.

I've been reading them, too. Good stuff. Interesting news on Hass' piece for the screen. I guess giving the FBI agent Parkinson's is a twist? Otherwise it's like any number of serial killer plots, IMO.
Advice from writer, Kelly Sue DeConnick. "Try this: if you can replace your female character with a sexy lamp and the story still basically works, maybe you need another draft.-

Well, there's an earthquake in it, so maybe he's pitching the movie version as taking place after the quake...

That's probably what i would do.
