Yep, without saying it that's what most are looking for.

But how do you get your foot in the door?

Marketing helps and is one area that many writers don't think about when they first start to write.

    Blah. Blah. Friggin' Blah.

How to get your foot in the door? Write a great screenplay that makes the right people say "Wow. This guy/girl can write".

No science needed. No marketing. No kissing ass. More "Hungover Lucha Blogs" coming soon.

I read the blog item. No problem with it at all. As usual he states the obvious -- you can't just write a great script and hope "they will come" -- but of course many of us regularly need the reminding.

On the other hand, no amount of hard-slogging and marketing "should" get a crappy script into production, even though occasionally it happens.

Sure, we can hope our script somehow finds its way onto a Black List, or that our "rep" will do all the work for us, but that's like not bothering to shovel your front walk (I had 4 feet on mine this week) and waiting till somebody else does it.

Ya' got a shovel? Do it. Or wait.

You're reading one of Ron's posts, and you ask if you need a shovel?
