  • SIX-GUN GORILLA: LONG DAYS OF VENGEANCE issue #1 available *now*

    Heya Cowboys and Cowgirls,

Some of you might remember that I was working on a screenplay and a comic book called SIX-GUN GORILLA. Well, the first issue of the comic has made available on the official blog for $1.99 per download:

    http://blog.sixgungorilla.com/

I also got my first review of the book today on AIN'T IT COOL's Comic Review page:

    http://www.aintitcool.com/node/62721

"Cartoonish by only a pinch, the story does a great job of walking that line of being too fantastical, yet has just enough realism to make you understand that this is a story with heft and emotion."

I'm humbled, to say the least. This October I'm going to be sharing a table at the New York Comic Con with the artists on the book, Adrian Sibar and Wes Huffor.

Thanks to everyone who has shown their interest and support for this project!

    Cheers,

    B

      FIRST!!

Oh, sorry. Thought this was still Aint It Cool.
But yeah, very cool. Good job, bro.

Just think, I may be able to tell my grandkids someday that I replied "Good job, bro" in a thread started by the guy who created Six Gun Gorilla.

That looks very legit. How did you hook up with the artists and make the sale?

        Were you out of pocket?

I think you should get a better website to promote it, the blog seems unprofessional in its way and off putting. You want to instill a confidence in the potential reader. I paid for my copy by the way, so where the hell is it?

When the money comes in, Brian will probably get a polished website. Rome wasn't built in a day...

Iggy, is that you? (I imagine this must be burning his buns!)

When people pay for a copy they get a copy, both as a .PDF attachment and as a download link. As soon as I see the e-mail informing someone has made the purchase I send them the book. The only quibble I've heard thus far is that the resolution could be better, so I'm working on that. Once I have a high resolution file I'll make sure everyone who has paid for a copy gets that as well.

                  Cheers,

I went on Digital Webbing and posted an add for a *PAYING* job. Do that and you'll be *flooded* with submissions, the best of which always seem to come from artists in Latin America (for some reason I've yet to figure out). I bankrolled the thing myself with money I saved up over the years.

                    Cheers,

Look, this is the DW forums. I set foot here *expecting* jealous, sometimes less-than-sane people trying to blow my light out to make their own burn stronger. (In fact, the reason I stopped posting here months ago is because I was harassed and had my name dragged through the mud by a bona fide cyber-stalker.) It's going to happen.

                      Cheers,

You should check out the way dark horse delivers digital comics, there's software for it that's really quite fantastic, the creators can control how you read the comic, it pulls in and out on panels every time you click revealing the information strategically. It's the best way to read comics.

That's not just Dark Horse...it's how any comic purchased on ComiXology operates. It makes reading a breeze on your phone, I-Pad, or computer. I have a published comic on ComiXology (http://www.comixology.com/Noctua-1/d...omic/DIG003327) as well as other outlets (that simply give you a PDF) and the sales are much higher from ComiXology.

Six-Gun looks awesome, Brian. Love the art. Are you planning on going with a publisher, or continuing to self-publish?

Brian, I tried to pay with my credit card but I get an error message stating that the e-mail address or the card number is associated with a pay pal account. The thing is that as far as I know I don't have a pay pal account. I'm very leery of Pay Pal right now given that Pay Pal sent me a notification a few weeks ago saying that my Pay Pal account has been billed. A Pay Pal account that I'm unaware of.

                            Here's my e-mail account

I can send you a check?

In fact I've submitted to Dark Horse (along with a number of other publishers) and am waiting to hear back from them. Adrian did some PLANET OF THE APES and STAR WARS comics for them a few years ago. Digital comics are the definitely the future, I just don't think they should be charging $5.00 for them.
