Yeah, that's a great podcast. I've listened to all those managers podcasts already, a few of them twice.

      Thanks for the recommendation, Jon!

We don't really cover the business side as, honestly, we don't have the experience to speak with anything approaching authority on that matter. We're mainly craft focused and we don't have the authority to speak about craft either, which is why we just analyse what other better writers have done to educate ourselves.

We have done a few 'breaking in' episodes with special guests but those kinds of discussions seem to have

      http://draft-zero.com/episodes/

      e.g.

DZ-12: Craft, Career and Coffins is the interview with Tash Pincus. She is a grammy nominated music video director, whose screenplay ended up on the annual blacklist, and yet her first produced feature was specifically written for another director.

DZ-23: Starting a Career in Film and Television, was a live panel at a local Australian short-film festival with early career practitioners. But nothing from people have fully connected the dots. (And this is useful to the UK listeners as it's more specifically about getting in with the funding bodies etc)

DZ-27: Competing Views on Screenplay Competitions. This again has different career level writers on it. The most interesting (to me) is Blake Ashyford, an Australian show runner (we have a handful of those) whose career semi-started with a screenplay win. Interesting hearing him tell the tale of how it all happened.

But I agree with the other commentators here. Manager interviews are very insightful in terms of how to build a career moreso than any others.

PS: We are planning a special episode on show bibles and pitching television, which will feature some show runner guests from the US and Australia... but it's a while off.

Children of Tendu is what you're looking for. It's hosted by Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Jose Molina.
