Access to the members area of the ASA offers a vast array of screenwriting resources, including information about topics such as, 'How to be a screenwriter,' 'Writing winning query letters,' 'Writing loglines, synopsis and treatments,' 'How to get an agent,' etc. Among the many services and programs, are postings from agents and production companies seeking scripts, and various links to ASA affiliates and listings (film schools, Script consultants, job listings) compiled by the ASA. In addition, members are provided discounts from various corporate sponsors -- AOL, apple computers, Avis car rentals, The Writers Store, Cingular wireless, Entertainment Weekly magazine, Gold's Gym, Office Depot, Online writing classes, Orbitz travel, etc.
Is it worth the 60$? Depends on your needs. But, there is another perk to becoming a member. A discount to the ASA conference...
The ASA's yearly screenwriting conference presents excellent networking opportunities and a chance to be part of a community. The ASA "is organized for educational purposes, including the promotion and encouragement of the art of screenwriting."(From their mission statement) What they don't tell you is how dedicated they are to help you succeed and to what extent they will go to make this happen. In this respect, the ASA is priceless.
I have been an active member of the ASA for many years and I owe much of my success to the ASA and their generosity.

Wasn't enough obviously. His last post was in 2005. Been out looking for more success since then I suppose.
If a woman has to choose between catching a fly ball and saving an infant's life, she will choose to save the infant's life without even considering if there are men on base.

Well....not actually "new" -- based on the bygone deadlines referenced -- but newer than the 2 that are no longer online (asascreenwriters.com and goasa.com)...
