  • 4000 entries? BLUECAT script contest entries, really 4000?

Just wondering, can someone tell me if these number of entries sound plausible?

There are 75 semi-finalists out of a total of 4388 scripts???

    Really 4388 ?

How on earth did they read 4388 scripts?

Nicholl regularly receives nearly double that number every year (7000ish). Austin, all told, twice that

      Hi , thanks.
But how is it possible to screen or read 4000 or 7000 scripts ?
Are you really reviewing or reading the first act of these 4000 5000 6000 7000 scripts. These script contest Gods, are they really reading?
Can the onwers or Nicholl and Austin and Blue answer this question.

Good question but it doesn't really matter. I made the semis last year and it was a similar ratio and absolutely nothing came of it. I didn't bother this year.

I think the 1st place winners probably get some reads out of it though. This is a tough business and the competition is insane. Much respect to those who actually get somewhere.
