    I'm afraid I must agree.

I gave up on this contest after the pages they chose for week one. Looks like that was the right call. Too bad though, it sounded cool in the beginning.

I'm on the same page....sounded kind of interesting at the beginning but not after reading the first week pages. I couldn't even get through the next ten. Tends to lend credence to knowing your story before you write it. AND, makes ya' wonder what the people at Benderspink are/were thinking?? Bash the other contests and then create your own train wreck.

Did anybody else get this email?

We had a lot of high quality submissions the first
week of Cowrite and as we approach the halfway mark we are reaching out to early entrants to invite you to participate again.

By submitting a great entry you have the power to drive the direction of the story and help get the Cowrite screenplay sold!

          They're getting desperate.

And again I'm thinking I could use the quick cash, and chances should be better now that they're running low on entries.

I got that email. I think the reason they are low on entries is no one is taking the contest seriously anymore. So winning a week might not be a good thing...but then again money never hurts

Congrats to mtoomey for reaching the finals again. Look like you're gonna get another script read by Benderspink. You planning on building a stack on their desk?

Next week could be the winning week.

A lot of assumptions made here. People can't possibly know how many entries they receive unless they're working for the contest. I get an email from the Nicholl every year. And it's not as if they're ever low on entries.

The prizes for this contest is much more appealing than the majority of the other screenwriting contests out there. A couple of grand in cash in a meeting with Benderspink. Delivered bi-weekly. How many contests out there can guarantee you a meeting?

Thanks Why One. Overall this contest has taken an unfair amount of abuse. The very nature of the contest lends itself to it I suppose.

There are a lot of holes and continuity issues in the overall script, but the contest organizers freely acknowledge this and the writer who eventually does the rewrite will a lot of options on the route they want to take.

Though I'm not loving the direction of the story in recent weeks, I do really like the basic premise and would love the opportunity to do the eventual rewrite. There is a lot of potential here.

                    week six is posted.

All I can say is -

                    bwahahahahahaha!

What a steaming pile of crap.

And I'll even give a lot of credit to the writer of the latest entry for weaving together all that nonsense into something that made some sense as well as making an effort to hit some structural beats...

But the script as a whole?

                    Steaming. Pile. of Crap!
