and here's another one --- a bit different from the other screenplay contests.
http://www.moviehatch.com is a group set up by several small production companies out to find scripts ready for production.

the first round involved contest organizers screening out the crap.
now with an invitation to move into the 2nd round, each scriptestant needed to put up a visual image on their site: a dvd cover* (the easiest and most popular), a verbal pitch, or a trailer... along with a synopsis for the online voters.

some of you helped me work on my logline here a while back. you may see some of your words. thanks for that!!

anyhoo - i don't know how many are remaining in this phase of the contest but in the drama/family category there are only 23.

help "hatch" my movie: THE LOOTER
by voting for me (of course)

also - it's pretty cool to see what's out there.

*mine is an image of the San Diego hillside during those horrendous wildfires and a looter about to snuff an old man with a pillow

    thanks!

      thanks!
i can see there are now 61 submissions left in the running.
what's cool about this contest is that they are really upfront with all their partners and the judges... with information and bio. impressive! notice, their newest partner is jamie foxx.

I also voted for you, not because you suggested it, but because I think that your pitch and concept is one of the bests (if not the best).

It sounds like a very interesting thriller, a la Hitchcock.

                    Good Luck!

I gave it 5 stars. You do know the contest includes an option and if you win? You option the script automatically. If you sell it's WGA minimum sales price (think that's about $50,000 for a $1 mill film and goes up to $100,000 if bigger budget).

                            thanks!

                            that would be sweet!!
their agreement also gives the writer the opportunity to be involved throughout the production process.
