I'll go to great lengths to make sure that the fees from the screenwriters who entered, weren't used to pay for this douche's monthly rent in Hollywood.

Protect your work and money, everyone. You don't want to fund a jerk's trip to Italy.

After BEATING DOWN this guy's "email door", he finally replied.

The winner of the contest has been selected and the details of the option contract are being negotiated. when all details are finalized, the winner will be announced to the public. Sorry for the confusion and delay.

To me, it sounds like the typical, "Caught with my pants down, trying to smooth you over" scam.

I've found a few writers who actually did enter, and IC3 complaints are on the way.

What do you want to bet the winner is a waiter at Drai's?

                http://vimeo.com/5365260

There's the contest director, Roger, getting bitch slapped multiple times. Screenwriters who entered, should be allowed to do the same.

Re: The Sixth Borough Screenwriting Contest

                  So here's an update.

Rather any progress with the Sixth Borough Screenwriting Contest, I get a newsletter email from this guy. He actually signed my email up to his subscription list for Drai's.

Here is a copy of it : http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/7016/rogerdrais.jpg

IC3 complaints have been filed. The next step is to bring it local -- LAPD consumer protection and consumer affairs.

                      This is very interesting.

                      Roger Crandall's Education
                      University of Florida
                      School year 2000 ยท Finance

He majored in Finance? I guess that's the education you need to create scam screenplay contests.

Digging through his Wall posts on Facebook, at the deadline of this contest, he went away to New York for months.

To anyone who entered, that's where your fee went to. His plane ticket to NY.

                        Another Update on this contest.

ONE WEEK after I contacted Roger Crandall of Sixth Borough Entertainment about this contest, this has been added to the contest's website.

The Winner of the 2010 Screenplay
                        Competition has been selected!

The Grand Prize of $1000 cash, and a $10,000 option contract goes to....

                        Dreams for the Sandman
                        By
                        David Burgess

David Burgess, whose script was a finalist in the Omaha Film Festival's Screenwriting Competition, has been contacted.

From February 3rd, 2011 -- 10 months after the contest had ended.
Yes, I entered, and received feedback. I made some of the changes they recommended and resubmitted the script.

Yes, he called me this morning to let me know that I'd won. He updated his website announcement as soon as I'd given him permission to do so.

The option money hasn't been sent yet; we've only been communicating for a couple of hours. He has my address; there is some paperwork coming and we need to have contracts in place for the option money to come.
