This is the first year entering contests so excuse my ignorance. When an online application form asks for a page count, you don't include the cover, right?

The other one that used to throw me is that some contests ask for the WGA reg # on the app form. I don't register with the WGA so I just put my copyright number instead. No one has cared.

Good question. There are lots of ways to count. And, it reminds me of a (necessarily ancient) Firesign Theatre bit on, Waiting for the Electrician:

"How many are we?"
"Here? Three."
"You don't want to count the elevator boy?"
"Yeah..."
"Three or four?"
"Four..."
"But, of course there's your family."
"But they're not travelling with me."
"Where?"
"Where I'm going."
"But you're here... how many?"
"Four... with the elevator boy"
"Ah, he is in your family?"

With the basics, my cognitive dissonance keeps getting in the way of the need to provide a blank cover, especially after I've read blog and forum posts here and there that say what should go on the "cover page", which I ultimately realized (?) are references to the "title page".
