  • Slamdance-winning short film

I'm posting this in the contest section not only because of my self-serving desire to get more people to view the film I wrote, but also to recommend Slamdance's short screenplay contest. My script, Dead in the Room, won it in 2010 and they produced the film with Oscar-nominee Adam Pertofsky directing and Patrick J. Adams (now in SUITS on the USA Network) and Andrew Borba starring.

You can judge for yourself how good a job they did by viewing the film in its entirety on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/deadintheroom

The film was an Official Selection of the following film festivals: Slamdance, Nashville, Woodstock, San Diego, Big Bear Lake, Red Rock, LA Shorts, Holly Shorts, Port Townsend and Breckenridge. It won Best Short Drama at Big Bear and Breckenridge and received a standing ovation in San Diego.

    Thanks for taking a look.

You must be over the moon! A million congrats on all of the success. Must be thrilling to see your words generating that kind of reaction. I'll be sure to watch!

Thanks, Getbusylivin'! It's been really fun getting some work produced (I have another short, Dearly Departed, that did the festival rounds this past year too) and seeing audiences enjoy it. It helps keep me motivated through the incredibly difficult process of trying get a feature made.

Thanks, NikeeGoddess! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. At the very least, I was hoping my fellow writers would get a laugh out of it.

Thanks for the DC Shorts suggestion, NikeeGoddess. I'll mention it to the producer/director. Though I think they're kind of done with festival submissions (due to cost and time involved).

But I'm sure if any festival wanted to request an exhibition copy, they'd be happy to comply
