I'm in with two comedies and an Action Adventure. I love the idea of a genre breakdown in the page contest. It's so practical and fun.
Anyone ever use their feedback? Wondering if its good.
Do you guys send different style scripts to Nicholl and Austin? Do you think good writing wins or do some contests have a bias toward certain genres.
The judges feedback was top notch. I got it last year, not this year. it was extremely helpful in a starting point for a re-write/edit.
I also bought their "Marketing package", which was even better, they provide a lot of information and feedback about how to best market your script, certain productions companies that might be interested, etc. They also give you 3-4 logline variations, explaining how and why they used them. It was really good. I recommend it.
Re: PAGE INT'L 2012 Top 25%/Round 2 Notifications....
Interesting discussion on QF here vs Nicholl - did anyone point out that with Page it says top 25%, but for Nicholl the QF is top 5%? All else equal, of course being a QF in Nicholl would be a big deal.

They have two rounds of judging before the QF round. The first round narrows it down to 25% while the second one narrows it down further to the top 10% that make up the QF:
FIRST & SECOND ROUNDS
In the first two rounds of competition, entries will be evaluated by professional script readers currently working in the industry. The top 25% of all submissions will advance to the Second Round of competition, and the top 10% of all submissions will advance to the Quarter-Final Round.

Oh, definitely. I was thrilled to reach the QFs as well but I'm really holding my breath for the Nicholl. They just have so many people applying that I imagine their 5% is like the PAGE's 8% or 9%.
Gratz on making it to the QF and good luck in the Nicholl
