  • One Brad or Two

I'm going to enter a "1st ten pages" contest by mailing my entry in.
The option of sending a PDF requires the fee paid by PayPal, which I
    don't have an account.
My entry has plenty of time to arrive.
    Only one question:
Should I use one or two brads to hold it together?
    Thanks

You want to use two brads... one on the top, none in the middle, and another on the bottom.

I've actually never heard of anyone ever using just one brad. I have heard, however, the idea that you can tell an amateur wrote a script if it has three brads.

Long story short... two is standard.

          Thanks for the input.

          I was watching a clip of a
          group reading scripts and it
looked like they were flipping the
pages that only had one brad
          holding it together.

Is there a standard distance the
brads should be from the top
          and bottom?

Use a standard three hole punch machine, then just leave the middle hole bradless.
You can buy a 3-hole punch at any office supply store or online.

I myself prefer two brads but hey the more the merrier....haven't sent out a hard copy in years.

I usually use 6 just to separate myself from the pack.

Grid: You don't need the extra brads. You separated yourself from the pack a long time ago. That's why you need a GPS device just to find your way back. But I'm sure you will. You seem like a smart guy.

                    Yes, I do.

Use two brads and attach a note, "Brads are removable. For your reading comfort, please remove one or both of the brads. Feel free to keep any extra brads for your own personal stash."

                    Good luck.

FYI - Unless the payee has set things up in an odd way, you don't actually need a PayPal account to pay a store via PayPal. You do need a credit card.

When you click the link to pay using PayPal, the "landing" page should ask you to log in, but also offer you a way to pay w/o having an account.

Don't ask me, but word on the street is that the brads go on the left as you are looking at it.

Thanks Manchester (the only person with a civil response) - I will click on
PayPal and remove the brad issue.

It's not a wonder why some folks ask questions about their script instead of posting pages.
