  • The Tracking Board, Script Shadow launch contest

The Tracking Board and Script Shadow just announced a joint screenwriting contest. Looks like there won't be many details until Nov. 17, though they say every major management agency is 'on board,' whatever that means. Also, entries will be read by Tracking Board readers. It's not clear what Script Shadow brings to the contest.

I'm surprised the TB hasn't tried to start one since the trackingb one is so popular. Well, let's hope it's another way to break in.

It won't be, Carson likes money too much.

          Why would it be free?

I think SS brings a lot of writers who may not be members of the tracking board and who may not know they have a new contest.

So does this mean Scriptshadow is legitimate now?

I, for one, am thankful that someone is finally giving The Nicholl a run for their money.

                  I almost did a spit-take.

So they'll be awarding 5 winners $35,000 each? Cool.

                    Who cares about the money.

I'd rather get signed. Something Scriptshadow and TB are able to help you with.

Let's see how people participating this year do before we judge if it actually can help screenwriters or not.

Re: The Tracking Board, Script Shadow launch contest

From reading their brief blurb, my guess is they are going to try to take "advantage" of the criticism against trackingb by creating a very similar contest with a lot more transparency.

Also, one of the things they're doing is giving exposure to more than just 8 writers --again, as compared to trackingb, which seems to be who they're competing with.

If they produce results, why not.

Seems it's open game on aspiring scribes these days. I guess time will tell which games in town actually deliver.

Re: The Tracking Board, Script Shadow launch contest

TrackingB -- Anyone can enter. Repped, sold, amateur whatever. Plain and simple. All scripts are read by the staff at TrackingB.

                          But this new one...

scripts will be read by "readers here at TB"
and that site is run by ?? Who knows...
But that's okay cuz they're teaming with "Carson Reeves"
who's all about revealing his true identity right?

                          ^^^ Yeah MUCH MORE Transparent...

If you're gonna make statements like that -- at least make sure they make sense.

I agree on the one point -- "if they produce results why not"
That's all that matters. And time will tell.

Alright I was SUPER confused. So THE TRACKING BOARD is actually a different thing than TRACKINGB. I was wondering why TrackingB would be adding another contest.

So The Tracking Board has not done contests in the past, then? This is their first?
