  • ASU screenwriting contest - worst deal ever?

Got some spam promoting this contest.

    http://screenwriterutopiascreenplayc...fo/prizes.html

$40 and up to enter. Prizes TOTAL $350.

And if you win you get a read from an (apparently non-WGA) agency in an undisclosed location, with no sales listed on DD.

Does that win the "least bang for your buck award," or are there other serious contenders?

    Or the best deal ever....

If it's that bad you may be the only entry and have a pretty god shot of winning. Then you can promote your script as an award winning screenplay.

As someone who's won a small contest it doesn't add much to your name. But it might be an easy to make $350.

To make $350 you would have to place first, second, and third. First place is $200. Probably have better odds taking that 40 bucks to the track...
