I was a finalist last year. Good people. If I recall, it lead to two read requests -- but one was from a prominent production company and still talking/working with them off of that connection.
If you are looking for pats on the back from 2nd round/QF finishes, you won't find it there -- they cut straight to 20 finalists. But there are plenty of contests for pats on the back.
