  • How to perfect your script for competition

Gordy Hoffman, founder of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition, sits down to discuss what it takes to make your script stand above the rest: "If you think you've gone over it a hundred times, and you're ready to submit, here's a list of a few things to consider."

And a reminder: BlueCat's Submission Deadline is tomorrow at 11:59 PM!

There used to be two written analyses per script. Now there's only one? Is it due to cost constraints?

Execution is difficult. Its what stands out between the very talented and the students of the craft. Remember, none of these people writing books about how to write a screenplay are actually making money writing scripts. That should tell you something. Even the people who are explaining the theories and principles to you in a book can pull off executing a slamming idea into a 120 page screenplay. You can't teach work ethic. You can't teach talent.
