So someone makes the Nicholl and Page Finals in the same year and is still hoping something comes from it? I'd've thought that would've broken down the door immediately.

Given the slush piles of scripts readers have to wade through, it could be months before the right person reads the script.

Congrats on the finalist there, Latenight. Bet you were sweatin that one huh? If they hadn't announced finalists when they did, I would have jumped off a bridge the next day. As Tom Petty once said, "the waiting is the hardest part."

I didn't get the fellowship, but I am incredibly honored to have made the finals. I read the other finalist scripts and I'm sure the committee had a tough time narrowing it down to five. Congrats to the winners!

Congratulations P-jay. I was sort of blown away on mine being in it to be honest. Check this out: 9 misspelled words, 3 missing words, and we just simply won't discuss the lack of commas. But hell, they liked it so who gives s*hit.

But the overall writing, the characters, the research into both characters and setting, and the scene work was absolutely superb. Congratulations.

BTW, did you ever hear the story about the writer who sent in a manuscript to the publishing house that had bought their book and said, "Please do the punctuation for me. I don't know how."

Afterward, the editor wrote back, "Next time, send the punctuation. We'll write the book."

LOL (on the ma'am). Thank you. And yes, it's one more step. This is the furthest any of my Nicholl entries have gone. Sure, winning is the dream, but bettering previous performances is a realistic goal for everyone who enters.
