Definitely. For starters, it recognizes finalists, semifinalists, quarterfinalists, and honorable mentions, so if your script is good enough it increases your chances of getting recognized in some fashion. Also, it is judged by many of the top managers/agents in Hollywood.
But the biggest benefit is that numerous people who make the semifinal cut are signed every year. 15 writers from last year's competition were signed, marking 60 overall since the first year it was offered (between the feature and pilot contests, I believe). http://www.tracking-board.com/tb-exc...kaplanperrone/
