Anyone have any insight into the Sundance Lab process after getting into the second round?
Are they still doing the fabled "third round" phone interviews?
The best I can glean from talking to different folks, there are three rounds - the "send the whole script" by email second round, a round of phone interviews and then a final round of in-person interviews.
A few years ago John August and Craig Maizin did an episode with a writer named Ryan Knighton. They asked him about his experience with the Sundance lab. He brings up the in person interview here:
"So... I tried to spec, you know, adapt my memoir... and submitted it to the Sundance Lab and I made it down to the final 25 for that and came down for a meeting with the lovely Sundance Institute people."
