They could have been referring to MY script, as well. Almost makes me wish I had submitted this year. :-)

Most are so vague, they could be anyone's script.

After writing on and off for years, this is the first time I have had anything ready/good enough to enter.

LOL, yeah. I bet a lot of people reading the comments think one of them is theirs. Comments like it has a strong opening would certainly make many people think it's theirs.

It usually is the case that, deep down, reader's notes are similar unless they're very detailed, because the general notes for a good and not so great script are in their essence the same. It grips you or it doesn't grip you. etc. I guess it feels a bit like fortune cookie reading but unless getting into nitty-gritty details, this is (mostly) the case, isn't it?

Which sucks, of course. I've been on both sides of the writer-reader equation, and unless you're allowed to go very detailed, and you usually aren't (and maybe it's not the best strategy either) you end up grasping for generalizations.

For what I've heard, the best tactic is the Lindsay Doran open-question singling out of motives/purpose of specific scenes. Wish I could get my hand on a couple of Lindsay notes.

I'm sure any notes from Lindsay Doran would be insightful. I love all her Psychology of Storytelling stuff!

Doesn't Austin do that? I'd rather read austin's then someone on Nicholl who only got two reads, which I read, is what the reader comments are.
I will not fall into despair! I will keep myself hearty, till freedom is opportune!

Doesn't Austin have the option of readers notes? I could have sworn I heard some interview of someone mentioning that.

Yes, they do, though the deadline's passed for this year.

Always have fun reading these! Of course while thinking, wouldn't it be cool if this was about my script?

But this year, for the first time ever, I thought - Hey, I'm pretty sure that IS about my script.

                        A writer can dream....

Do you have a link? I looked on their site and do not see it. It's not on their facebook either.

It's on their Facebook page, but they don't post feedback every day. Last time they did was on June 26th. Scroll through their postings and you'll find other days they put up feedback.
