Re: what's goin' on with austin?

Well it's finally cooling off after a long summer, been raining a lot which has been causing really high humidity lately... Which is normal for the end of summer here in Texas...

Oh wait you mean the screenwriting thing huh? Oh I have no idea.

Do ya think they're doing a remake? LOL. I haven't heard anything about Austin, but I'll be there in a few weeks.

              FYI,

I just checked expedia and roundtrip fares on American from LAX to AUS are $209.00 today. That's $25.00 cheaper than last week--when I bought my tix.

Re: what's goin' on with austin?

And $50 less than when I bought my tix - rats!

I'm on 3 panels: Genre, Roundtale, Common Mistakes.

I still have to book my danged hotel - I've been sidetracked by prepping my 2 day class in Vancouver Sept 17th & 18th.

Actually, they seem to have changed the website. Now they're saying mid-September, or about a month before the festival.

That's odd. I went to the main page:

                            http://www.austinfilmfestival.com/si...news/index.htm

                            And it says:

                            "
Final Deadlines have past and we are no long accepting submissions for this year's festival. ALL ENTRANTS for all categories will be notified by US Postal Mail one month (mid-September) prior to the festival. Our complete line-up of films will be announced the first week of October."

                            Oh wait, that's for film.

                            Okay, never mind.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled programs....

I wouldn't worry too much. When I entered the contest 3 years ago, I heard absolutely nothing from them until B.J. Burrows called me early October to tell me I was a finalist.

I didn't even realize I was in the running as I had forgotten all about the contest.
