  • Searching for...

I am searching for a script that contains a "search crew"...

Either using a boat, a chopter, anything... that is searching for peolpe either missing or lost. It doesn't really matter what script is best. Where I can read some scripts based on that subject.

In particular, a passenger is missing, they go out on a search team looking for them, knowing that time is running short.

Any script(s) that has this is most thankful.

    Thanks!

I know that movie from a couple of years ago, "The Guardian," was about the Coast Guard and had some big ocean rescues in it. I didn't actually see it, so I don't know the details. And I don't know if the script is online. But the trailers sure looked splashy.

That's interesting... I will have to search for it...

      Thanks!

The Fugitive, although it may not be all of the criteria you asked for. Good luck on your search:

I thought of that... unfortunately, not sure if that is what I am searching for.

          Thanks!

You'll pick up a lot of boats at sea/searching type stuff from reading Jaws. The general atmosphere won't do you any harm either. As for drama, suspense, tension, action, adventure, the script is hard to beat.

              Hey Derek-

I have read it, well part of it actually.

I guess, what I am having trouble with... is... a search team is out to find the girl, she's down there in the wreckage of debris - hidden by the smoke and fire from the explosion. They are up in a copter. They can't see too well over the mess down there... so, my question in thought is... do they continue the search even though they may believe it's helpless... (because of the nature of what they are seeing??) or continue to scope the perimeter in hope to find her death body or find her alive, but hidding from them?

I know I've seen something like this before, somewhere... sure not Jaws... or unless I am wrong? I need to see how visually it was done, to be more visceral?

I'm thinking the helicopter would land a safe distance away and the team would approach on foot, so their view of the disaster site isn't as obscured by the rising smoke. If they buzz over the site their rotor wash could fan the fires.

What if it's from a distance... a head a mile or two. Giving them the perspective to notice that the danger is inevitable?

Sorry D, not sure what you're asking.

Can she signal to them? A radio, a flare, a mirror, waving her jacket, dancing naked on a rooftop, anything that gets noticed? If they see she's alive then maybe they'll risk the danger. If they don't see her and the odds are slim that she survived then maybe they'll back off. And maybe she'd want them to, rather than risk their lives.

I actually wrote a scene with the copter hovering above them, in the distance, but doesn't see anyone.

So, perhaps what you stated is correct with what I had intent all along. They discover the wreckage is too far gone, and there's nothing that can be recovered... so, they fly back???

Perhaps I should/could post it a new thread with the scenes for everyone to tear apart. But, I'm not ready to do that until I've written some elements in and take some out to fit it where I want before I post. When I'm done I will...

                      so, look for it.
