In contrast to the phrases long forgotten ~ What's the hot words and phrases these days among the teens and 20-somethings?

Like what's todays equivalent of a 'skank'?

    Re: Phrases happening now

I don't think the traditional terms like "skank", "ho", and "slut" have gone out of style.

I've heard "chicken head" and "jumpoff" more recently.

        Re: Phrases happening now

Last year I heard "muffin top" (belly hanging out of midriff) and "whale tale" (thong riding up butt crack).

But nowadays, I think it really is text messaging shorthand that rules the roost.

"chickenhead" has been around my neck of the woods for years. We think of a "chickenhead" as a cookie-cutter cute drunk idiot girl. It's like "yeah... she's hot... but exactly the same as so many other drunk drama-ridden girls we've seen before."

Random -- No, I mean the word "random" is what teens and 20somethings use to describe something that is peculiar, or non-sequitor.

                "That was random"

                "Wow. Random. Anyway..."

Believe it or not, "Rad" (Radical) is still in use. That is over 20+ years old, but teens and 20somethings still use it.

You want to know what is really in for the millennium?

Combining older terms into compound terms:

                -Fugly - Fvcking Ugly
                -Skitch - Skank and Bitch
                -Lerk -Loser and Jerk

The beauty is it's truly subversive and relies solely on the context (knowledge of the root words), so they don't sound as offensive in every day use... So adults are completely unaware
                Positive outcomes. Only.

Of late I've been hearing the word "pass" with some frequency.

Must be some super cool word those young kids are coming up with. Hope it means "what a talanted sumbitch".

beat -- ugly chick. "That chick is so beat."

                    broke -- same as above.

tramp is used alot these days.

                    douchebag, or douche is common.

Derogatory term for a guy, implies nerdiness: boner.

"That guy is such a f&*king boner."

                      "Yeah, no."

Might just be around NorCal, but everyone around here seems to be starting off responses with that...

... maybe it's a weird way of acknowledging what the other person has said, and then disagreeing.

OK ... chickenhead, sort of a take off on chick? But not a "beat" chick. Better than that.

In other news, my 4-year-old came home from preschool saying the word "chickenbutt" almost nonstop. I have no idea what that means but that should be the next "now" word. At least among 4-year-olds.

chicken head - a girl who gives a lot of oral sex (also, bobble head)

jumpoff - a sexual partner; opposite is breezy or shorty (girlfriend) or boo (boyfriend or girlfriend)

Is there something you're looking for specifically?
