    hi all,

anybody know how often a boxer can legally fight in a pro environment?

    i.e - once a month, twice a year...

    cheers.

I think they can fight as often as they want, but they have to have training periods in-between (and obviously rest from a previous fight), which would probably explain why they only fight a few times a year.

I don't know the exact answer, bierhound, but I've watched boxers fight on TV and once heard an announcer mention how one fighter had like 9 fights in the last 9 months. So I figure it's legal to fight at least once a month. Every state has its own rules, too.

A lot of the boxers wanna be cleared to fight in Nevada 'cause that's where most of the big money fights are held.

The real big names only fight about twice a year. They train for about 3 months before a fight and usually take a couple of months off after a fight.

      That's what I've heard as I watched. I ain't no expert, though.

      No.
