As far as your second question goes... I'd suggest checking with D.E.A.
With reference to the first question, if your talking domestically produced... it would depend on what you mean by "hardest to produce"... from what perspective... hardest because of the danger of detection? Hardest because of the difficulty in obtaining the needed ingredients?
Jake... I'd say domestically you would be hard pressed to find your targeted drug if we were all sitting around in a typical city and stated that we all would like to do some;
1. Opium(will have best chance in San Francisco area)
2. Hashish(real stuff), hard to get anywhere in U.S.
At least it would prove more difficult than if we, on the other hand, stated we wanted;
1. Pot
Three decades ago hash was a snap to procure; opium was almost as easy; I worked in a store in the East Village where I was paid each week with a chunk cut from a block of government-grade Moroccan opium.
But I think I've found my solution, and I thank you, as always, for the excellent feedback!
By the way, there's an article in today's (Sunday's) NY Times Magazine on the guy who invented Ecstasy (and a sh!tload of other designer drugs, as well). Nice old man with a lousy memory...:smokin
