  • Cellphone Questions

Don't have one, so I'm in the dark...

Typically, about how far out into the boonies can you get before you lose the signal?

Which carrier has the best rep for coverage? I know AT&T has the worst...

    Thanks!

      Re: Cellphone Questions

AT&T is actually getting better. We moved to a house that was on the fringe, and I was getting 0-1 bar on my iPhone. Suddenly, about six months ago, I started getting 4-5 bars.

I have Verizon and I got coverage way out in the wilds of west Texas while I was driving across country. The only real trouble I've had getting reception (other than underground) was in some drug-country Motel 6 in Arizona, where the phone switched to roaming but produced mostly static.

In the West Virginia mountains (different trip) I was also roaming but reception was fine.

The only annoying thing is that relatively often calls drop when I'm in my apartment.
